About this deal

Upon spraying myself, I did enjoy the opening. I do own Hacivat but not Ani (eventually I will). It doesn’t smell like Hacivat at all to me.

First, let me say this: yes this is absolutely a dupe of Initio's Atomic Rose. But no, it is not a perfect clone. In summary, if you're seeking a fragrance that combines olfactory craftsmanship with bold, unapologetic audacity, this is an essential addition to your collection. Consider your other fragrances not just warned, but completely overshadowed: there's a new masterpiece in town. As someone who's a big fan of the rubbery scent of car tires in perfumes and the striking, almost mystical similarities to BR540, this fragrance hits all the spots, enveloping you in a sensory journey that persists well after the bottle is sealed.Do the best oud colognes use synthetic or natural oud? Oud is the most expensive perfume ingredient in the world. Needless to say, many oud colognes use substitutes rather than the real deal. As Frank Voelkl, Firmenich perfumer, explains, “what we do to replicate the smell of natural oud in our fragrances is create substitutes that are compositions using a combination of other natural ingredients and some synthetic molecules.” He says the benefit of doing this is that they’re, “generally ‘softer’ and less animalic-smelling compared to that of natural oud extract.”

If you are familiar with agarwood’s resin, you should know that it goes very well with some notes, for example, floral rose, spicy saffron, gourmand honey, clean musk, and last but not least dirty patchouli. To the latter, already earthy and dark by itself, it adds a veil of subtlety, making it a little smoky and a little coarser. And it is precisely in this form that I face the oud-patchouli duo in this essence. Modern patchouli together with a cleaned oud, as if the couple had been baptized, confirmed, cleaned up nicely, and last but not least sanctified before marrying them. It is definitely an oud for beginners, a little too challenging and off-putting when you’re first starting out on your scent journey. However, it’s also not too harsh, sharp, punchy, medicinal, rugged, or animal oud. Like all my Lattafas, I'll let this one rest as well for a few weeks and then will test it again in the fall on both of our skins. I'm hoping it will be less sweet and suffocating in cooler weather and the cinnamon will be less dominant. Bade’e Al Oud Sublime (Oud For Glory Sublime) by Lattafa is a long-lasting fruity perfume suitable for both women and men. It is an aromatic Oudh perfume with a beautiful red perfume bottle in a 100ml size. This Arabic perfume spray features the following fragrance notes: As far as the fragrance goes, it's very linear on my skin and lasts a long time in the 8+ hour range. I get whiffs of it for quite a long time too, and depending on the ambient conditions, I'll catch the scent projecting off my arms over 4 hours after initial spraying. The good and bad news of this strong performance is that I've gotten headaches but at the same time I'll go noseblind to it for a while too. I must note, however, that it does not become extremely sweet and pastry-like. Vanilla and some subtle cinnamon join in.Dried fruits, rose and oud make up the scent profile, similar to Oud Royal, which I love. However I find that Oud Royal could use a touch more sweetness, which I find in Lattafa Opulent Oud.

I don’t think you’ll be choking many people out with a few sprays of this, the sillage isn’t the most intense it’s very middle ground in that respect but the scent is amazing! Due to the note’s intensity, the best oud colognes are on the long-lasting side of the scale. Yet, the time an oud cologne lasts depends heavily on the wearer’s skin chemistry. In general, though, oud lingers on the skin long after most other notes.I have given this title to the review even if, in reality, with Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst, it is more The Marriage of the Roses between the Turkish and the Bulgarian families. I am a big fan of roses, no matter if they are single or mixed with spices, leaves, mosses, woods or foods. All these combinations offer a different and unique interpretation of this flower. And while roses are the most prominent and dominant note, Amethyst is not a rose-centric scent. However, the two rose qualities go so well together. Amethyst is a lilac variety of quartz and is also the beautiful colour chosen for the bottle. This to me is the absolute best oud-centric fragrance you can buy, and it's astounding how cheap it is. I honestly think this smells nicer and more expensive than Ombre Nomade. Not that this is a clone of it or anything, but that is often seen as the king of oud-forward scents so I usually compare them to that. Lattafa Bade'e al Oud Oud for Glory is an odyssey through the mesmerizing terrains of the Middle East, encapsulating the exotic allure that has enraptured noses across regions. Imagine stepping into a bustling souk, wafting through a haze of saffron, nutmeg, and lavender. The opening isn't just sugary sweet; it's tactile and nuanced, as if you could reach out and touch the moderately sweet and vividly aromatic spices swirling in the air. These are different, but there are some similarities with oud-vanilla. OM doesn't have the sandalwood-patchouli drydown, and is more of an oud-praline bland along the lines of Oud Bouquet Lancome, while Opulent Oud is woodier and more along the lines of Armani Prive Oud Royal. Both have powerhouse performance. After two hours or more of dry down, the blast of turmeric dissipates to leave behind more of a spicy vanilla, but still no pineapple is detectable. The scent seems to carry throughout a room, and I got a compliment on it from someone who was about four feet away. It also has a decent lasting power – I could still smell it on myself after an 8 hour workday.
